Vetrimaaran and Suriya are uniting for Vaadivaasal and fans are excited for the project. Music director GV Prakash has now revealed some interesting updates about the film’s songs.

GV Prakash was answering some questions posted by his fans on Twitter. About his much-awaited project with Vetrimaaran, he said, “We are now working on Vaadivaasal. We have already finished composing two - three songs. The songs will be an extreme version of raw folk music. Vaadivaasal's album will be a rustic and native score."

Vaadivaasal is based on noted Tamil writer Ci. Su. Chellappa’s novel of the same name. The story revolves around the Tamil bullfighting sport of Jallikattu. Vaadivaasal is a place in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu where bullfighting is a popular sport as well as a spectacle.

Written and directed by national award winner Vetrimaaran, R. Velraj is the film’s cinematographer and Jacki has been roped in as the art director. Velraj and Jacki have both collaborated with Vetrimaaran in the past.

The makers had previously released the film’s title poster in July last year to much fanfare. With it being the filmmaker’s first collaboration with Suriya, the film is already popular with the fans.

Suriya was last seen in the critically acclaimed legal drama Jai Bhim, which is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. The actor is now awaiting the release of his action drama Etharkkum Thunindhavan directed by Pandiraj.

Vetrimaaran last helmed Oor Iravu, his segment in Netflix anthony series, Paava Kadhaigal. He is also currently working on Viduthalai, a crime thriller starring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi.
