Tollywood director Venky Atluri's Vaathi is one of the much-expected films fans of Dhanush are looking forward to from their matinee idol. The movie, which has been titled Sir in Telugu, went on floors earlier this year. A while ago, composer GV Prakash said that the works related to its recording have been going on at full swing.

The makers have now revealed that they are ready with the film's first look and teaser, leaving Dhanush fans excited. The much-awaited first look of the movie will be unveiled on July 28 while its teaser will be released on July 29.

Samyuktha Menon plays the female lead in the project which is likely to release this year. Navin Nooli and Dinesh Krishnan are handling editing and cinematography respectively for the movie which is billed as Dhanush's first Tamil-Telugu film. Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya are bankrolling Vaathi under Sithara Entertainments which also happens to be the actor's first Telugu project.

Though there were reports of Samyuktha opting out of the film, makers had quashed it as baseless rumour. Dhanush will be seen playing a teacher in the film which is currently in its last leg of production.

Dhanush's next release is Mithran Jawahar's Thiruchitrambalam which will hit the screens on August 18. The light-hearted family drama is the actor's first theatrical release after four back-to-back direct OTT releases, Jagame Thandhiram, Atrangi Re, Maaran and The Gray Man.

Arun Matheswaran's period action flick Captain Miller is another project the actor has in his kitty. There are reports that Naane Varuven, which has him teaming up with Selvaraghavan after more than a decade's hiatus, will also be releasing in theatres this year.
