Varisu and Thunivu, both are slated to hit screens on January 11

After 9 long years, films of both Vijay and Ajith are all set to clash with each other at the box office. Both Varisu and Thunivu are slated to hit screens on January 11. While the FDFS of Varisu will begin at 4am, Thunivu will be first screened at 1am itself, much to the delight of Ajith fans. The move has come as a step to ensure that the fans of both the actors do not clash with each other in the movie halls.
In the meantime, the teams of both the films have been going out of their way to promote their respective projects. While the Varisu team has opted for a digital van campaign in London, the Thunivu team has taken over the Eiffel Tower in London. Thalapathy Vijay will be seen on a giant LED screen travelling through some of the important places in London. The Thunivu van was recently seen screening the trailer under the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris. Interestingly, Ajith had met many of his fans at the Eiffel Tower when was vacationing with his family in Paris last year. He had not only posed for selfies but also signed autographs.
The team of Varisu has today conducted a pre-release event today in Hyderabad where the film's producer announced that the Telugu version will release on January 14 instead of January 11.
With just a day to go for the film's releases, the makers are going out of their way to promote the film and ensure that they get maximum footfalls and rake in the moolah. While Thunivu is directed by H Vinoth and billed as an action entertainer that revolves around a bank heist, Varisu is a family drama where Vijay will double up as a shutterbug and businessman.The film is helmed by Vamshi Paidipally.
