Varun Dhawan has stamped his authority once again as a top-billed star with the success of Jugjugg Jeeyo. With the help of a credible ensemble cast including Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Maniesh Paul, and others, Varun’s put an end to his brief lull at the box office and has delivered another commercial hit. And now, to give his tryst with comedy cinema a new push, the actor is reportedly in talks with Anees Bazmee for a comic caper.

Yes, as revealed by Pinkvilla, the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 director and Varun have been in touch for quite some time for an exciting collaboration and things have now finally aligned for the two. Needless to say, the project is most likely a bonafide comedy film that will bring the two powerhouses together and offer yet another rollicking ride at the movies for all the fans. Anees Bazmee, as many would already know, has worked with Varun’s father David Dhawan in the capacity of a screenwriter and has written many hit films like Swarg, Shola Aur Shabnam, and Gopi Kishan.

In the same interview with Pinkvilla, Bazmee shared that although he has never had the opportunity to work with Varun Dhawan, the two have shared a close bond going back several years. “He is a fantastic actor with good comic timing. I am on the lookout for the right story at the moment and since we share an emotional bond, our film needs to feature a fantastic story and script. One can expect the announcement to be very soon,” said the No Entry director in the interview.

Anees Bazmee will be reuniting with Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, and others for No Entry 2 or No Entry Mein Entry, the sequel to the 2005 film, and the shooting of this film is expected to begin sometime in December or January, depending on the scheduling of all the stars involved. According to the latest reports, the team is considering Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Pooja Hegde, or Rashmika Mandanna to play the lead role, and should this come true, one can expect the film to be a super exciting venture.
