Maanaadu is one of the biggest hits of Tamil this year. The political thriller directed by Venkat Prabhu had a theatrical release on November 25 after facing several hurdles. Silambarasan plays the protagonist in the film which has SJ Suryah playing the antagonist and Kalyani Priyadarshan essaying the female lead.

The film, which has the aspect of time-loop as one of its highlights, was appreciated by critics and movie lovers alike. Yuvan Shankar Raja's music and Praveen KL's editing received praises from one and all, apart from the earnest performances by Silambarasan and Suryah.

A few days ago, SonyLIV had announced officially that the film will be streaming on the platform soon. Now, they have come up with an update. The film will start streaming on the platform from December 24, exactly a month after its theatrical release.

The social media handle of the platform tweeted, "What does destiny hold for Abdul Khaaliq as he gets trapped in the time loop? Get ready to watch Maanaadu on repeat, streaming on Dec 24 on SonyLIV. #MaanaaduOnSonyLIV (sic)."

Premgi Amaren, YG Mahendra, Subbu Panchu, SA Chandrasekhar, Anjena Kirti, Karunakaran and Manoj Paramahamsa among others play key roles in the project which has impressive action sequences choreographed by Stunt Silva and cinematography by Richard M Nathan.

Maanaadu was initially slated as a theatrical release on Deepavali, along with Rajinikanth's Annaatthe and Vishal-Arya's Enemy. However, the film backed out from releasing in the last minute due to unanticipated circumstances. The film had a solo release three weeks later and opened to positive reports.
