Vetta Mrigam, the latest lyric video from the Prithviraj-Roshan Mathew starrer Kuruthi, released today ahead of its premiere on Amazon Prime Video on August 11.
The song ‘Vetta Mrigam’ from Kuruthi released recently on Youtube. The lyric video was released ahead of its premiere on Amazon Prime on August 11. Rafeeq Ahammed and Sujesh Hari have penned the lyrics.
The single reveals several characters who weren't noticed in the trailer. The lyrics starts with an image of Prithviraj's bruised and bloodied face with a piercing gaze. It follows images of Roshan Mathew and actor Mamukkoya in their jeep with a shabby and grim appearance.
The lyrics, that start with the words “Purappadu, ithu padapurapaadu”, have us speculating that Kuruthi-meaning ‘sacrifice’ in Malayalam, might as well be a revenge thriller. The lyrics directly hint at vengeance.
Composer Jakes Bejoy, who has a knack for thrillers, has proved his mettle with movies like Dhruvangal Pathinaaru, Ranam, Kalki and Taxiwaala, is now back with Vetta Mrigam. His beats and guitar combo remind you of the background music in the trailer.
The movie is directed by Manu Warrier, noted for ‘Coffee Bloom’. He had also scripted Anurag Kashyap’s Yudh starring Amitabh Bachchan. The director recently said that he was impressed by Anish Palliyil's script. Cinematographer Abhinandan Ramanujan associates with Prithviraj after Nine.
The movie marks Prithviraj’s second OTT premiere after Cold Case. Apart from Prithviraj and Roshan, actors Mamukkoya, Manikanda Rajan, Shine Tom Chacko and Murali Gopy also play important roles.
