Thalapathy Vijay is off to Hyderabad to shoot the fourth schedule of his upcoming film, Varisu, directed by Vamshi Paidipally. A video of Vijay at the airport is doing the rounds on the internet. In the video, Vijay is seen slowly walking towards the airport bus to board the flight. The actor, we hear, is all set to begin the next leg of shoot for Varisu. The third schedule was wrapped up recently and the team took a short break before they began the next leg of shoot.

The final schedule will be canned in Chennai and it looks like the entire portions will be wrapped up by September. The makers had already announced that Varisu will be a Pongal 2023 release. Vijay has had 13 films of his release on the occasion but has not had any release in the recent past. This has piqued the curiosity among fans and are hoping that Varisu be a grand release. The story and screenplay for the film are by Vamshi himself , dialogues are by Hari and Ashishor Solomon, and additional screenplay is by lyricist Vivek. On the occasion of Vijay's birthday on June 22, the makers released three looks of the actor from the film. The looks went viral in a matter of seconds.

The film, which has Rashmika Mandanna playing the leading lady, has an ensemble star cast which includes Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Shaam, Sangeetha, Khushbu, Srikanth, Samyuktha Shamuganathan, and Yogi Babu. Varisu is said to be an emotional family drama. This is the first time that Thaman is scoring the music for the film and the composer calls the opportunity, a dream come true. While Karthick Palani is handling the cinematography, KL Praveen is handling the editing. The film is bankrolled by Dil Raju and Shirish under their production house Sri Venkateswara Creations.
