Vikram, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, shows no signs of slowing down. The action-thriller, also featuring Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi, which hit the screens on June 3, is said to have minted Rs 335 crore at the box office. At least, for another week, it looks like the film will stay strong in theatres. Talking about the success of Vikram, Kamal Haasan said that he will "repay all his loans and eat to his heart’s content."

Vikram earned over Rs 130 crore in Tamil Nadu, in ten days. The Kamal Haasan-starrer will soon beat the record created by Baahubali: The Conclusion, in Tamil Nadu. According to reports, the sequel to Baahubali's collection stood at a whopping Rs 155 crore.

Recently, Kamal Haasan stated that if progress should be achieved, leaders should not be worried about finances. "Nobody understood what I meant when I said, 'I can earn Rs 300 crore in a snap.' People thought I was exaggerating. Now it's happening.”

The actor-politician said, he will repay all his loans and will eat to his heart’s content. "I will give whatever I can to my family and friends," Kamal Haasan noted.

Kamal Haasan added, "If that's all I have left, then I won't say anything more. I don't have to take someone else's money by claiming to be helping others. My aims aren't lofty. Just being a good person is enough for me."

According to sources, Vikram has surpassed the Enthiran collection in the UK, and becomes the highest grossing Tamil film in the region.

Lokesh Kanagaraj spoke about the pressure of directing Kamal Haasan in Vikram. "Initially, there was some pressure, but since Kamal sir agreed to be part of my world, there has been no turning back. There is a lot of pressure surrounding the film since it became pan-Indian. We weren't expecting this, but as other industries began looking at Vikram with such high expectations, we started feeling the heat."

Lokesh Kanagaraj thought he must earn Kamal Haasan's respect more than anything else. "When we are sincere in our work, we will receive what we deserve. That's how I view my relationship with Kamal sir," he said.

Lokesh Kanagaraj told Cinema Express, "It wasn't because I'm his fan that he treats me the way he does, or that he tweets me for my birthday, or that he wraps his arm around my shoulder while talking about me, or even that he believes that I can offer Vikram 3 even before it is released. The only way I have earned anything so far is through cinema and sincerity, and isn't this the most important takeaway, especially from someone who has lived by these principles his whole life through... Kamal sir himself?"
