In the last few days, fans of Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep have been getting a wee bit angsty with the pace of the promotions of the actor’s next, Vikrant Rona. Since early July, Sudeep has been the ever-gracious host as he promoted the film with media across platforms, be it print, radio, TV or digital at his home. Pretty much every journalist/influencer in Bengaluru got an audience with him. Some bigger names were flown in to meet him too, which got his fans wondering if he was not planning to head out to other cities for promotions.
Sudeep had done a tour of the four south states, Mumbai and Delhi during the trailer launch of the film, but that was not enough, reckoned fans, who wanted him to spend more time in the Hindi belt for promotions. Their ‘prayers’ have finally been answered. Starting tomorrow, Sudeep will be on the road for the promotions of Vikrant Rona, with the first pit stop on the tour being Delhi. The official social media handle of the film had a post about this, which had fans heaving a collective sigh of relief and ushered in a lot of excitement.
The overwhelming consensus was that team Vikrant Rona should take north India by storm, with some suggesting that they should spend at least a week in that belt, before heading to Tamil Nadu, Andhra/Telangana and Kerala. A week in north India, of course, may not be doable, considering that the film is only a fortnight away from its theatrical release. It had been reported that there would be a pre-release event in Karnataka, so that also needs to be fitted into the promotional tour of the next two weeks. Sudeep, we hear, will lead the promotions in the other regions too.
Produced by Shalini and Manjunath Gowda for Shalini Artss and co-produced by Alankar Pandian of Invenio Origin, Vikrant Rona will release in theatres on July 28 in 3D. In India, the film will be released in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, with the team gunning for an overall 14-language theatrical outing across 55 countries.
