The pre-release event of The Warriorr turned out to be a special occasion where many talented Tamil filmmakers came together after a long time. This is perhaps the first event in Kollywood in the pandemic era which witnessed stalwarts of the industry making their presence.
Shankar, Mani Ratnam, Bharathiraja, Parthiban, Balaji Shaktivel, SJ Suryah and Vijay Milton were a few filmmakers who graced the event and entertained the crowd with their speeches. Lingusamy, the director of The Warriorr, had expressed happiness over the turnout for the affair and thanked his friends for their presence.
During his speech, Vishal recollected his association with Lingusamy and thanked him for being a significant person in his professional life. He said, "People still recognize me as an action hero because of Sandakozhi which he made with me. The film defined my career and I'm still known by the movie which was released in 2005."
He added that film industries have now been welcoming talented people irrespective of where they belong to. "Unlike earlier days, the language barrier has disappeared. The Kollywood audience and industry have been encouraging great talents. In fact, today Bollywood is stunned after seeing the phenomenal growth of the south film industry. It is because of our healthy collaborations."
All praise for Ram and Krithi Shetty who play lead roles in The Warriorr, Vishal noted that the success of its songs and trailer made him jealous and that he's sure of the movie spinning money at the box office in both Tamil and Telugu.
"Lingusamy has gone through a lot of distress in recent years. But I know that he is a confident person today and I can guess the determination with which he has worked for The Warriorr," Vishal added.
