Last Friday, Golden Star Ganesh’s second film with director Suni, Sakath, released in theatres. The film has Ganesh play an aspiring musician called Balu, who is a part of an orchestra and wishes to participate on a music reality show hosted by his favourite anchor Mayuri (Surbhi Puranik). To ensure he gets on the show and remains there as one of their TRP favourites, he pretends to be a visually-challenged participant, which, in the course of the film, puts him in a dicey situation.

The song Neene Naa from the film, the video of which was released today, plays at a crucial point in the narrative, when Balu is torn about whether to continue his charade even though it will not have the desired result, or to leave it all behind, which would, in turn, jeopardize the future of a school for the blind. The song, written by Pramod Maravanthe, composed by Judah Sandhy and sung by Pancham Jeeva, with visuals by director Suni, perfectly captures this dilemma, as Balu struggles with a crisis of conscience.

After Premakke Kannilla, which was dropped prior to the film’s release, in the last 10 days, this is the third song to make it to the public domain. While the team began with the lyrical video of the Sid Sriram number Shuruvaagide, three days ago, they’d released the song Baadige Mane.

Beside Ganesh and Surbhi, Sakath also has Nishvika Naidu, Rangayana Raghu, Giri Shivanna, Sadhu Kokila, Dharmanna Kadur and Malavika Avinash in pivotal roles. Cinematographer Santhosh Rai Pathaje and director Suni have cameos in the film. The film has been produced by Nisha Venkat Konanki and Suprith for KVN Productions.
