Yesterday, shortly before Manu Ravichandran’s fourth film Prarambha hit theatres, the makers released the romantic number Bari Neene Neene. Featuring Manu with debutante heroine Keerthi Kalajeri, the song, sung by Armaan Malik and Ashwini Joshi and written by Santhosh Naik, has been composed by Prajwal Pai.
The film, directed by Manu Kalyadi is about the aftermath of love failure and explores that life doesn’t end there. During a press briefing prior to the film’s theatrical release, Many had said, “Very often, youngsters think that the break-up of a love relationship is the end of the world and take extreme measures, including suicide or substance abuse. Prarambha is a film that exhorts that there’s life after a love failure too and reminds us that when we take drastic, irreversible decisions, we tend to forget everyone else in our lives, be it the parents who brought us up, siblings and friends who love us and so on and so forth. Don’t we owe it to them to move on in our lives and find a better tomorrow? All these elements in the narrative pushed me to take up this film.”
Prarambha was supposed to be Manu’s early 2020 release, but was then delayed owing to the pandemic. In the time since, the team had been looking for a suitable window to release the film. In the meantime, Manu completed and released another film, Mugilpete, which ended his three-year drought since his 2018 movie, Brihaspati. Throughout, Manu has remained hopeful of getting Prarambha into theatres and while it was initially supposed to hit theatres on May 13, the team had technical issues and pushed it ahead by a week to May 20.
Produced by Jagadeesh Kalyadi for Jenushree Tanusha Productions, Prarambha is currently in theatres.
