Ever since Daniel Radcliffe parted ways from his Harry Potter image, he has been taking up roles outstandingly brave roles. His newest one is that of Weird Al Yankovic, who is a musician, record producer and actor known for his comedic musical compositions.
In this movie for the US platform Roku, Daniel is seen in a curly-haired, bespectacled avatar. A teaser trailer, which was released today, opens with an arena packed with screaming and cheering fans. The music stops as Daniel says, "Hope you guys are ready for this." Then he stretches out his accordion and lets out a loud victory cry.
The trailer is set to 'Like a Surgeon', Weird Al's parody of Madonna's song and shows Daniel interacting with other people in his life, looking absolutely jacked on stage and spitting out a drink during a performance.
Here is the trailer:
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story is directed and executive produced by Eric Appel from a screenplay he co-wrote with Yankovic. So there seems next to no chances of this biopic being a complete bore or lacking historical accuracy.
Besides Radcliffe, the movie also stars Rainn Wilson as Dr Demento, Julianne Nicholson as Mary Yankovic, Toby Huss as Nick Yankovic, and Golden Globe nominee Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna.
The biopic will be available on the Roku Channel soon, but whether or not it will be available in India is yet to be revealed.
