As Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu gears up to hit screens on Pongal 2023, fans of the actor are on cloud nine. In the meantime, the Telugu Film Producer Council had recently released a statement that read that only straight Telugu films should be given preference on Sankranthi and Dussehra festivals and only the remaining screens will be given for dubbed Telugu releases. Varisu is releasing in both Tamil and Telugu as Varasudu. However, since the Telugu version is only a dubbed version, fans are wondering if the film would dominate the screens on Pongal. The producer's forum has also requested exhibitors to invariably implement this decision.

Meanwhile we hear that Vijay, who was recently in the US on a vacation, has returned to Chennai and is currently shooting a pending song for the film. The song is being canned in Bellary, Karnataka. We hear that the team is yet to complete some patchwork and the post-production work is going on on the side.

In the meantime, the first single from the film, Ranjithame, has already turned out to be a huge hit. The song has already crossed 45000 views. The production house shared, "#Ranjithame hits 45M+ views now Chartbuster is the word!! (sic)." The peppy number, sung by Thalapathy Vijay himself along with MM Manasi, was released a few days ago. Ranjithame marks Thaman's first ever composition for Vijay. Now we hear that the second single is likely to be released on Thaman's birthday on November 16.

Varisu marks Vijay's maiden collaboration with Rashmika. The star cast includes Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Jayasudha, Sarathkumar, Khushbu, Meena, Shaam, Sneha, Yogi Babu, Sangeetha Krish, Samyuktha and Ganesh Venkatraman among others. Varisu will take on Ajith's heist thriller and fans are quite excited about the same as the arc rivals onscreen will take on each other after a span of 8 years.
