The second song from the highly-anticipated Netflix anthology web series Navarasa has dropped. The track titled Yaadho is from the segment called Ethiri, which will focus on the emotion of compassion among the navarasas. Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, Ethiri stars Vijay Sethupathi, Prakash Raj, Revathi and Ashok Selvan.
The song, written by Karthik and composed by Govind Vasantha, is a soulful track rendered by Chinmayi Sripada. From the time the movie was announced, the wait had started to see what Govind would bring to the table. Govind had previously worked in the Tamil movie ‘96, which also had Sethupathi play the lead role.
Yaadho is a melody that just might remind the listener of the tracks from the previous collaboration of Govind and Sethupathi and Chinmayi’s voice adds to the emotional core of the song.
Navarasa is a nine-part anthology that will take the audience on an emotional ride across all the nine Navarasas. Having roped in the best actors, technicians and directors in India, the anthology web series is set for a release on August 6 on Netflix. This will see the anthology, produced by Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakshan, premiere in over 190 countries at once.
The artistes, technicians and directors are working on Navarasa without any remuneration. The profit made from the anthology will be donated to the members of the Film Employees Federation of South India, who were affected by the pandemic.
The anthology has a star-studded cast including Suriya, Siddharth, Aravind Swami, Revathi, Parvathy, Rohini, Prakash Raj, Aditi Balan, Atharva and Yogi Babu.
