Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead trailer has got fans super excited. The film is his first post-DC project which has piqued the interest of fans and critics alike. The director, who has had a long and complicated history with DC, recently reacted to a fan-made spoof trailer of the Army of the Dead.
Nigerian online comedy group, Ikorodu Bois, is known for its creative spoofs and reimaginings of music videos and movie trailers. The group, consisting of three young siblings and their cousin, have over 43,000 subscribers on YouTube and 1 million followers on Instagram.
The group released their Army of the Dead spoof trailer recently and joining their long list of fans is Zack Snyder. Their trailer is a side-by-side comparison of the official Army of the Dead trailer.
In a video from Netflix film on April 26, Snyder was seen complimenting the group on their work.
“You guys did such an amazing job!” said Snyder to the youngsters in an interaction.
In the remake, Ikorodu bois have used their own props and animation to recreate the setting of the official trailer. A CGI zombie tiger has been substituted by their dog and all the group members have played the parts of the actors.
Expressing his joy at the remake, Snyder also encouraged the group members to follow their passion. When told by the group members that they aspire to be global directors like him one day, Snyder said, “It's for sure going to happen. You seem to have all the angles, you know how to make the shots. I’m ready to see your movie.”
Snyder’s Army of the Dead is due to release on May 21 on Netflix. The film stars Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell and Hiroyuki Sanada.
