The biographical drama follows Steve Jones, an English rock guitarist and radio DJ who also was a guitarist for the band Sex Pistols. The Sex Pistols are an English punk rock band that formed in London in 1975 and are one of the most ground-breaking acts in the history of popular music. The series follows the band's rise to prominence and notoriety. The show stars Toby Wallace as Steve Jones, Anson Boon, Louis Partridge, Jacob Slater, Christian Lees, Dylan Llewellyn, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Sydney Chandler, and Ferdia Walsh-Peelo among others. Created by Craig Pearce, Pistol is based on the Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol by Steve Jones.
