Indian Matchmaking Season 2 Review: Matchmaker Sima Taparia is back with yet another regressive cringe-fest that's underwhelming
The series tells you that the wedding industry in India is ginormous, and fairly clinical in the way two people decide to get married.
Netflix recently released a new reality show that caters to its Indian audience and people can't stop talking about it.
Under the guise of giving us a detailed look at a culture which privileges marriage amongst ‘equal’ families and not individuals, all kinds of classist, casteist stereotypes gets an airing.
‘Indian Matchmaking’ encapsulates the clichés of the arranged marriage system in an entertaining and engaging way, but it also unabashedly celebrates the most regressive ideas and stays restricted to India’s elite upper-class and NRIs.
