Malverde: El Santo Patrón which translates to Malverde: The Patron Saint, is an American biographical television drama that is based on the Mexican bandit Jesus Malverde. Jesus Malverde, also known as “angel of the poor” or “narco - saint” is a folklore hero in the Mexican state of Sinaloa. The series, set in 1910 and inspired by real-life events, is produced by Telemundo Global Studios, and stars Pedro Fernandez as the titular character. It is created by Luis Zelkowicz and has 80 episodes in its first season.
