The coming of age drama revolves around a romance forged between Na Hee-Do and Baek Yi Jin. After the South Korean financial crisis, her high school fencing team splits up and she joins the sabre fencing national team. Baek Yi jin, who belongs to a more affluent background, is severely hit by the financial crisis. He is hurled into sheer poverty, and tries to make ends meet and rebuild his life by doing several part-time gigs, mainly delivering newspapers. He is the eldest son and desperately seeks to keep his family afloat, which has been ruptured by the IMF crisis. Kim Tae Ri plays Na Hee Do, while Nam Joo Hyuk essays the male lead. Set in 1998, the series depicts the triumph of love and ambition in the face of dire hardships, as it shows the characters' journeys from their adolescence to thirty-somethings. Jung Ji Hyun has directed the series. Hwa and Dam Pictures serve as the production company.
