Sydney Thunder and Adelaide Strikers' Big Bash League (BBL) Season 12 matchup has stunned everyone as the former team on Friday night created an unwanted record by scoring the lowest-ever total in a T20 game.

In a thrilling match at the Sydney Showground Stadium, the Australian domestic T20 league team, which included England's T20 World Cup winner Alex Hales in the lineup, was bowled out for just 15 runs in 35 deliveries.

Turkey's 21 all-out against the Czech Republic back in 2019 was surpassed by the Thunder's total as the lowest-ever score in a T20 match.

Seeing the clash end in such a fashion got cricketers taking to social media to express their shock and awe.

England Test captain Ben Stokes was totally stunned. Following the match from Karachi Stokes took to Twitter to react and wrote, "8-10 off 5," alongside a series of mind-blown emojis.

England pacer Jofra Archer also took to Twitter and wrote, "15 all out ?!".

David Warner, who will soon be a member of the Thunder, responded on Twitter and made a joke about how it was one way to keep his former Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) teammate Rashid Khan from making an impact in the game.

"I guess that’s a way not to let @rashidkhan_19 have an impact on the game," tweeted Warner.

Speaking to Fox Cricket, former Australia fast bowler Brett Lee said: "I am speechless. I haven't seen a performance like that. It's appalling when you think about it."

Talking about the clash, the Sydney Thunder were chasing 140 in 20 overs after restricting Adelaide Strikes to what looked like a modest total. Fazalhaq Farooqi claimed 3-20 while Gurinder Sandhu (2-28), Daniel Sams (2/23), and Brendan Doggett (2-24) bagged two wickets apiece.

However, the game took a dramatic turn when Sydney Thunder was bowled out for 15 runs in 5,5 overs. None of their batters had even reached the double digits while four ended with zeros against their names. Strikers' Henry Thornton went on to claim 5-3 in 2.5 overs while Wes Agar ended with 4-6 in 2 overs.
