The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 mini-auction in Kochi saw the capped all-rounders go under the hammer and the first name was Shakib Al Hasan, who had a base price of Rs 1.5 crore and went unsold. He is currently leading the Bangladesh squad against India in the second Test.

However, the fight began after Sam Curran's name was pulled out. Curran, with a base price of 2 Crore, expectedly has intense bidding seeing Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) going back and forth. Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) were also in competition, with bids having crossed 10 Crore. But Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Punjab Kings (PBKS), and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) all came in.

The all-time record of Rs 16.25 crore for Chris Morris is broken as Sam Curran's bid went to Punjab Kings for a whopping 18.50 crore.

Next on the list was Odean Smith who was taken by Gujarat Titans (GT) while Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza is sold to Punjab for 50 Lakhs. Next came Jason Holder, and he too started a bidding war and the Rajasthan Royals get him for Rs 5.75 Cr.

An intense bid war went on for Australia's Cameron Green (base price Rs 2 crore) between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI), but it was the latter who got the Australian all-rounder for Rs 17.5 crore.

This made him the second-most expensive player in IPL history.

Another bidding war soon began after England's Ben Stokes' name was out. At a base price of Rs 2 crore, the war went on between Mumbai and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Later Hyderabad and Lucknow and Rajasthan joined in. But the last bidder Chennai took the cake as Ben Stokes was sold to CSK for INR 16.25 Crore.

Sam Curran, Cameron Green and Ben Stokes all combined have broken all previous IPL records.

Sam Curran (Rs 18.50 crore) PBKS

Cameron Green (Rs. 17.50 crore) MI

Ben Stokes (Rs. 16.25 crore) CSK
