As per reports, Gautham Menon's spy thriller "Yogan," initially intended to star Vijay, was shelved at the initial stages, with Menon later revealing the story line and Vijay's reason for backing out.
Vijay was chosen to play the lead role in Vikraman's Unnai Ninaithu but he opted out of the project after shooting for a few days, due to creative differences, and was replaced by Suriya.
Thalapathy Vijay made his debut as a child actor in the 1984 film Vetri, directed by his father, S. A. Chandrasekhar, and later made his debut as a lead actor in the 1992 film Naalaiya Theerpu.
Thalapathy Vijay's breakthrough film was Poove Unakkaga (1996), directed by Vikraman.
The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) is a 2024 Tamil action sci-fi thriller directed by Venkat Prabhu, starring Vijay in a dual role, that follows a former SATS agent called back into action when his past actions resurface.
The film also stars Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal Ameer, and more.
Thalapathy Vijay will be seen in Jana Nayagan. It was announced on 26 January 2025, Republic Day.
