Sohum Shah's film Tumbbad re-released in theatres on September 13, 2024 after its initial release in 2018. Let's have a look at films as good as Tumbbad. 

Stree (JioHotstar)

This horror-comedy film is set in the fictional town of Chanderi, where villagers believe in a vengeful woman spirit, Stree, based on the urban legend Nale Ba. The second instalment is also a blockbuster.

It is a Kannada-language film about a young tribal man, Shiva, who reluctantly takes on his ancestors' traditions to seek justice, set against the backdrop of a small coastal village in Karnataka and its rich folklore and mythology.

Kumari (Netflix)

It is about a naive woman married off to a cursed land beyond Illymala, where people are willing to sacrifice their lives to preserve tradition and power, starring Aishwarya Lekshmi, Shine Tom Chacko, and Surabhi Lakshmi.
