Rajkummar Rao is all set to impress us with his impeccable acting skills in his upcoming film, Srikanth. The film, which is directed by Tushar Hiranandani is a real-life story of entrepreneur Srikanth Bolla, who is a visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla. The film also stars Jyotikha and Alaya F in pivotal roles and will showcase the inspiring journey of the industrialist. 

As Srikanth is all set to release on May 10 in theatres, let's take a look at some of the Hindi films that were based on real-life stories or incidents. 

Kedarnath on ZEE5

Sara Ali Khan and the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput played the lead roles in the film, Kedarnath. The story of the film revolves around Mansoor (Sushant) and Mukku (Sara), who fall in love while being from very different regional backgrounds. But their love fails nature's test as floods take over their lives and Mansoor cannot survive. The film is an inspiration from the Kedarnath Temple floods that took place on 16 June 2013. 

Padman on ZEE5

Padman is a real-life story based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham. Akshay Kumar plays his role in the film which is a story of a Laxmikanth (Akshay) who questions hygiene when he sees his wife using a dirty cloth during her menstrual period. Hence, he decided to make affordable pads for women for the safety of their hygiene. The film, which also stars Radhika Madan raises awareness of an important topic. 

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha on ZEE5

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is based on the real-life story of Anaita Harre and her husband. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles and is a compelling story that brings out the issue of open defecation. The film, directed by Shree Narayan Singh is about a woman who decides not to use the washroom in public so her husband builds one for her. 

Gully Boy on Prime Video

Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy is about Murad (Ranveer Singh), who turns his life upside down by acing the art of rapping. The film, which also stars Alia Bhatt is an inspiration from the real-life journey of two underground Indian rappers Naezy (Naved Shaikh) and Divine (Vivian Fernandes). The film also stars Siddhant Chaturvedi in a pivotal part. 

Kesari on Prime Video

Kesari, starring Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra centers around the legendary Battle of Saragarhi in 1897. The story of the film portrays 21 Sikh warriors who display brave valor against a massive Pashtun invasion numbering 10,000. The film will surely touch your patriotic sentiments.
