Adrishyam 2 - The Invisible Heores has finally landed on SonyLIV on April 4. Six episodes starring Eijaz Khan and Pooja Gor follow a team of brave secret agents led by Ravi Verma (Eijaz Khan) and Officer Durga (Pooja Gor) as they protect the country from dangerous enemies and treacherous plots. As we can see, several spy thrillers have been released in recent times, such as Berlin, Fateh, and more. So, Eijaz was asked whether the genre is overdone in an exclusive chat with OTTplay.
Eijaz Khan on whether spy thriller genre is overdone or not
During an exclusive interview with OTTplay, Eijaz Khan was asked whether espionage thriller genre is overdone since several films of the same genre have released in the recent times. Reacting to it, the actor said, "We need more. I love the genre."
Citing an example of a spy thriller, The Agency starring Michael Fassbender, Eijaz said that he loved it as the series unfolds layers of games till the end.
He further added, "So we have not even scratched the surface. Thrillers are by default one of the most a genre that needs so much intelligence to write and execute because we have to place easter eggs in places where they should not look like easter eggs, but they should be there. There is so much hard work that actually goes on in this."
Pooja Gor on rising amount of OTT content
When asked if OTT platforms have reached a saturation point owing to many content releases back-to-back more than theatrical, Pooja Gor shared, "If you compare OTT with a human life, it has not even reached its teenage phase. It's in primary school, in KG. OTT has just come and hardly a few years, and with the advantage of OTT platforms and so many of them, we have so many new creators, writers, directors, actors who are all willing to explore the stories that cannot be told on Television, in films because of time limitations."
She further added that OTT is the fine line where you can explore a topic or a concept at length and make it available in such a way that you can watch it all at once, which is called the concept of binge-watching. "We have not seen the best yet, so the best of OTT is yet to come," she added.
Meanwhile, in Adrishyam 2 - The Invisible Heroes, Eijaz reprised his Ravi Verma role while Pooja joined the cast as Officer Durga. The cast also includes Swaroopa Ghosh, Tarun Anand, Chirag Mehra, Roshnee Rai, Parag Chadha, Zara Khan, and Shriya Jha.
