Akshay Oberoi, who recently ventured into the OTT space, has been quite busy with several web series and films at hand. The actor, who will be seen in the much-anticipated Inside Edge 3, State of Siege 2, Illegal 2 and Cold among others, spoke to OTTplay about his time during the lockdown and juggling multiple projects.

Divulging a little more about his role in Inside Edge 3, Akshay shares that he is nervous about the series. The actor, who cannot wait to go back to the sets of the Vikram Bhatt directorial Cold, also reveals how his prior experience of sleeping in a graveyard came in handy for Cold.

Excerpts from the interview:

What has your time during the partial lockdown been like? Were you shooting?

Yes, I was in between two web shows and two films. It was good fun.

Tell me a little about your role in Inside Edge season 3.

I’m a cricketer in the show. I had to do a lot of training because I hadn’t played cricket before. Thank God Karan Anshuman trusted me. I really hope cricket and Inside Edge season fans accept me in that role. It was quite fascinating.

Are you a part of State Of Siege 2?

Yes. I have a guest role in it. I’m a big fan of Ken Ghosh and Akshaye Khanna. Most of my work was with Akshaye. We shot in Manali during the partial lockdown.

What is happening with Illegal 2, Cold and Those Pricy Thakur Girls?

I’m not shooting right now because of the COVID situation. We are already in the middle of these projects.

How did you land Cold?

Vikram Bhatt and I have been talking on and off for a while. It happened during Illegal’s first season. He is super considerate. He and Bhatt saab (Mahesh Bhatt) were writing the script during COVID and I loved the idea. I cannot wait to come back to that set.

You are coming back to a supernatural-horror film after Pizza 3D. What is your mindset when it comes to Cold?

I used to sleep in a graveyard while shooting for Pizza. For Cold, it helps to listen to Vikram Bhatt’s stories. I have my routine before taking a shot, which is music, thoughts and maintaining a journal. Bhatt saab is a very practical guy, in the sense that since it starts to get cold in the web series, he would also reduce the temperature to get us prepared for the scene.

Would we be seeing you in more web shows or web movies in the future?

(Laughs) I hope both, because I love both extremely, to the extent that I’m obsessed with it. It is great to work on both, since with web shows you can explore the character and with films, there’s a thrill of sharing the story in less time.
