Animal is all set to release on December 1, 2023. Sandeep Reddy Vanga has directed the film and his brother Pradeep Reddy has co-produced it. In a detailed interview, Pradeep talks about the film, its highlights, Sandeep Reddy's work, Ranbir's new avatar, and much more. Here is the transcript.
We will not waste even a single minute of your time
The runtime of the film has become a hot topic of discussion. When asked about the same, Pradeep Reddy said in a very confident tone "Even though the film is three hours twenty-one minutes long, we will not waste one minute of your time. Once the audience walks into the theatres, they will be immersed in the world of Animal".
You will see a new Ranbir Kapoor in Animal
Pradeep Reddy says that it has been 15 years since Ranbir Kapoor made his debut in films but no one has showcased him like Sandeep did in Animal. "You will see a new Ranbir in the film. The way he has emoted, and done action is on another level. Post the release of Animal, Ranbir will be offered more action films in the future".
Ranbir was shocked to see himself on screen
When asked about Ranbir's response to the film, Pradeep Reddy said "Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in the age group of 10 to 50. After seeing a few rushes of the film, Ranbir was shocked to see himself on screen and told Sandeep that he himself never imagined seeing this intense side as an actor. Ranbir is a very secure actor and even though there are towering personalities, he never feels intimidated and gives his best".
Sandeep Reddy is a very lovable character
Right from the days of Arjun Reddy, Sandeep has been termed as a guy with attitude. Some of his previous interviews given to the media also showcase the same. When asked about the same, Pradeep says Sandeep is a very lovable guy and is misunderstood by the media. "As he is dressed in a very intense avatar all the time and gives serious looks, people think he is very arrogant. But that is not the case as Sandeep is a very confident young director".
Animal's interval block will blow your mind
Animal is being spoken about for its action sequences and when asked about the same, Pradeep says that the interval block in Animal will blow your mind away. "The interval block is 18 minutes in length and the action sequences shown is a first of its kind for Hindi cinema. The special weapon used for the fight scene will have a repeat value as the audience will back to the theatres just for that action sequence".
Animal needs to make 350 crores to be in a safe zone
Animal has been mounted on a massive scale and when asked about the total budget of the film, Sandeep says that Animal has been made on a total cost of just over Rs 250 crore. For the film to be in the safe zone, Animal has to make at least Rs 350 crore. "We have taken a lot of risk for this film and gone all out. We hope that the audience loves the film and gives us great profits".
Sandeep is a slow writer but shoots at a very rapid pace
Sandeep Reddy Vanga is known to make films at a very leisurely pace. When asked about the same, Pradeep says that Sandeep takes his own sweet time to write his films. Once the script is locked, he wraps up the shoot in a quick manner. "I can challenge that no other director in India would have wrapped up a film like Animal in just 100 days".
