Bellamkonda Srinivas Interview: Chatrapathi was a mistake, Bhairavam is my redemption

Bellamkonda Srinivas is one of the exciting new talents in Telugu cinema and began his career with a bang. Unfortunately, his last few films ended up as massive flops at the box office. To make matters worse, he made his Hindi debut with Chatrapathi, the remake of RRR director SS Rajamouli's action drama of the same name. The film took a long time to release and was panned on the very first day.

After taking a one-year break, he is now ready with his new film, Bhairavam, which is all set to hit the screens on May 30, 2025. Speaking in an interview, Sreenivas said that remaking Chatrapathi in Hindi was one of the biggest mistakes of his career, and he deeply regrets it. "I knew something was wrong from the time the film went on the floors. It was a bad decision, but I’ve come to terms with it. I'm back with Bhairavam, which is a relaunch for me in my career," says the Rakshasudu actor.

He adds that he aspires to be a versatile actor capable of taking on a wide range of roles. "Look at Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar. They can do comedy, big action dramas, and even social films, they fit into all kinds of characters. I look up to them as role models and am following in their path," says Sreenivas.

In Bhairavam, Sreenivas is joined by Manchu Manoj and Nara Rohit, who are also making their comebacks with this action-packed drama. Vijay Kanakamedala, known for Naandhi, has directed the film, which is high on both action and emotion.

Bellamkonda Srinivas on his future plans

Bellamkonda Sreenivas has also signed three more films, all in different genres. "My fans love me in action entertainers, but my goal is to explore diverse characters. My upcoming films will showcase me in completely new avatars, and Bhairavam is just the beginning," he concludes.
