Bigg Boss OTT 2 Exclusive! Aaliya Siddiqui: While I'm restarting my career, I'm very happy that my kids are with Nawazuddin

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s ex-wife Aaliya Siddiqui surprised one and all by being a part of Bigg Boss OTT 2. She constantly made headlines and is now ready to restart her career with the reality show. Meanwhile, her kids are spending time with Nawazuddin.

In an exclusive interview with OTTplay, Aaliya talks about life since the controversy, how she’s looking at a fresh start through Bigg Boss OTT 2 and what’s on her mind next.

Excerpts from the interview...

There's a certain image set when it comes to you and it's all different in everybody's mind. Are you here to set the record straight, in a sense?

No, it is not something that I have thought of. If such a situation arises or we talk about it, then 100%, I will give an answer if needed. However, this is my individual journey and thus, I don't want to bring that into my present. It was my past and the chapter is now closed. This is my new journey and it's how I want to be know rather than what I'm usually known for. I don't want to live in the past and be someone's shadow.

Tell me about your journey to coming on the show. Since you are not from the acting background per say...

I have no plans to become an actor at this moment. I'm just going to Bigg Boss and haven't thought about my next step following that. Of course, if I get good projects, I will chase them. My main focus actually is direction. I have worked on three short films so far. I have produced a film and have another film.

Did you approach the makers or did they approach you?

Of course, they approached me and I thought about it. Since I wanted to move on anyway, I thought Bigg Boss is a great platform for it. The show changes people's image and shows their true selves. People want to know more about you. When they spend time with you, that is when they know your personality. This is a good platform for that.

Have you followed Bigg Boss previously? If yes, what do you think about fitting in, in an environment where everything is unfiltered. Do you think you are ready to face that?

No, I have not followed the show religiously. I have seen some clips though.

Of course I'm ready. I know and mentally prepared for all of that. I'm ready for the adventures too.

Have you met Salman Khan yet?

No, we have never met. I never met him personally but yes, everybody knows about his stardom. Of course, I'm excited.

My husband (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) and him are well connected. They have collaborated too.

What would you say your goals and aspirations are at this point of time?

I can't say anything at this point of time. I'm starting my journey with a fresh mind. No matter what people think about me, they would know who I am through this show. I haven't thought much about later.

What are your expectations from the show?

I haven't thought about it yet.

Who is looking after the kids while you are on the show? If you would like to talk about it...

My niece is with them. She's a fashion designer who lived with me in Mumbai. She has taken a break from work to take care of them.

10 days later, my husband is going with them. They are with their father for one and a half months. There's a caretaker. Nawaz has ensured they get all the facilities. There's nothing to stress about. My niece is there and my daughter has supported me a lot by encouraging me to pursue my dreams over stressing about them. I know they will manage. Nawaz is also going there.

How do you think you will deal with the temporary separation from them?

I haven't forgotten them to miss them. They are always with me. I'm very happy that my kids are safe with my niece. My husband will be there. They will go on a good trip. They will stay together. I will also start my career with this. Nawaz planned the holiday at the right time. Even though I will miss them, I'm very happy that the kids are with their father. They will enjoy life.

What should the viewers and other contestants look out for when it comes to you on the show?

There are many personalities and everybody is an expert in that. I would want to read people's minds before taking any action. It's how I would take my journey ahead. So, I can't comment right now.
