Deviyani Sharma made heads turn with her bold role in Mahi V Raghav's Shaitan. She is back with the second season of Save The Tiger which will stream on Disney + Hotstar from March 15, 2024. The young actress talks about being typecast after Shaitan, her new avatar in Save The Tigers 2, and her future projects. Here is the transcript.

How excited are you about Season 2's release?

I am super excited and cannot wait to see the reaction of the audience. The second season will be double the fun and the entire family can watch it together. The entire team has met after a long gap and I am loving the promotions as I am getting time to spend quality time with my co-stars. I am super confident that Save The Tigers 2 will make a dream start on Disney + Hotstar.

Tell us more about your lawyer's role in season 2?

In the first season, I was showcased as this aggressive lawyer who gets everyone divorced and is after her husband. But the makers have twisted my character and she becomes this god-fearing wife and is now head over heels in love with her husband. The way she goes after him is showcased hilariously. Krishna Chaitanya plays my husband and our confrontation scenes are one of the highlights of the show.

How different is the second season of Save The Tigers from the first?

The first season showcased only madcap comedy but things changed a bit for the second season. Along with the crazy comedy, there are a lot of emotional moments in the show that will connect with the family episode. A particular episode featuring a forest setup is going to be hilarious and will bring the house down on fire.

Working with the likes of Mahi V Raghav?

I owe a lot to him. As a show creator, he has given me a big opportunity to do such a key role. I feel popular directors like him should cast more young actors like me in their projects. He has given me Shaitan which showcased my acting prowess. I play two contrasting roles in his shows and for me to showcase my talent, Mahi has given me the right platform and a solid role in Save The Tigers 2 and I look forward to working with him again.

A new director has helmed Season 2, tell us more about it?

Yes, Teja Kakumanu directed the first season and as he is busy with his acting assignments, Anil has taken over the responsibility of directing the second season. Anil is a very jovial director and gives a lot of scope for improvisation on set. He has given a new angle to the show and brought in an emotional connection between all the characters. He will surely go a long way in his career.

Your role in Shaitan was bold and shocking, did you get typecast after the release?

Yes, Shaitan was a changing point in my career. I got noticed by many in the industry but sadly, I got typecast in such bold roles. Even now, I receive such bold roles which I do not want to take up. I am an actor and I just showcased a side of my acting prowess. I want to do different roles and prove myself as an actress. I feel Save The Tigers 2 will showcase me in a new avatar.

Future projects?

I am doing a web series in Hindi and am in talks for a few Telugu projects as well. I want to take this opportunity to tell everyone that the industry should give chances to young actors like us. Until someone shows belief in us, we cannot give our best. Save The Tigers 2 will showcase the other side of the actor in me and I hope the audience loves me in the new role.
