Exclusive! Aar Ya Paar actor Ashish Vidyarthi: An actor like me was out of work and then OTT happened

Aar Ya Paar, an upcoming fast-paced action drama on Disney+ Hotstar, released its trailer a few days ago and it looks intriguing. Aditya Rawal, Patralekha, Sumeet Vyas, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya all play major roles in the Sidharth Sengupta-directed film.

In a special conversation with OTTplay, Ashish Vidyarthi opened up on their challenges of shooting in the areas of misty hills and waterfalls. He said, "Difficult is an understatement. I can only imagine the challenges the production face by taking us to the place, the places that are very far beyond the city and taking the entire cast and crew and taking care of them amidst the Corona and everything and it was so close to the jungle, obviously the view was fantastic but the risk the production has taken and I hats off to the entire team for that."

When asked if OTT platforms are providing flexibility and taking away the charm of cinema halls, the Kaho Na Pyaar Hai actor said, "See, restaurants are still running in the days of online delivery, for me I see this as a technological thing. OTT is not just when you demand but it is what you demand. Thanks to the OTT, there is space for niche content."

"What we have discovered is there is much wider market that we ever thought was possible. It is a liberation, not just for people for who are watching but also for creators who have ideas, who write, who want to direct, wonderful young directors, cinematographers, actors are getting jobs. An actor like me was out of work and then OTT happened. And I say this because I was getting the similar kind of work always and I decided not to take these and thanks to the digital platforms now I have choice and I can choose out of them and I can gladly tell that now I have 6 projects coming up this year and I'm thankful", Ashish added.

Aar Ya Paar is set to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from December 30.
