After a month and a half of its theatrical release, Milan Luthria's directorial Tadap has finally got an OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar.

The film is streaming on Friday, and ahead of its OTT premiere, Ahan Shetty, the debutant who created a storm, shared his excitement with OTTplay. The newcomer exclusively told us, "We had a theatrical release and now we have a Hotstar release, so we do get to reach a large audience now."

Tadap also features Tara Sutaria as the female lead and has been one of the most awaited films to be released on OTT soon. Regarding the same, Ahan shared, "I didn't expect that at all. I'm very, very happy that people are so eager to watch this film on OTT. But at the same time, I do realize that a lot of people didn't get the chance to go to a theatre to watch the film.

Earlier, during an interaction with OTTplay, Suniel Shetty's son revealed that Tadap was a "risky" debut for him. Ahan affirmed that it was worth the risk in terms of the story as well as his character.

Tadap had one of the grand premieres ahead of its release, wherein who's who from the film industry marked their presence. Calling it an "overwhelming" moment, the actor said, "I've been to premieres and trials before, but this was for my film. I was completely taken aback, and especially meeting so many people who were supporting me and showering me with love, was a dream come true.

Tadap received mixed reactions from the audience and critics alike. Regarding the criticism, Ahan said, "I did read a lot of the reviews or comments that people were leaving on the trailer or their reaction videos to the film. There was a lot of appreciation, but there was also criticism. I think that the criticism was necessary. For me, as an actor, to grow, as much as you like to read the appreciation, criticism is a very important aspect to learn and move forward in your career."

Tadap is a film that has suspense that was taken aback by many who hadn't watched the original Telugu film, RX 100. Talking about the reaction to the suspense, Ahan revealed the messages he has been receiving from people. The actor recalled, "A lot of people didn't expect that kind of ending. People messaged me saying, 'Oh my God, Ramisa (Tara) shouldn't have done that. Ishaana should have been the one who killed her.' Those are the kinds of responses I was getting. It's very interesting to see how everyone perceives the movie, and now that we'll be reaching a larger audience, we are very excited to see how they react to the film."

Ahan added, "RX 100, the original, was a fantastic film. I know a lot of people have seen the original, but at the same time, those who have seen the original want to go watch Tadap as well. So that's just how powerful that one story is."

Recently, the newcomer revealed that Rakesh Roshan called him up and praised him for his performance in Tadap. When asked about any other celebs who heaped praise on Ahan, the actor revealed, "Sanjay Dutt and Rohit Shetty had called, and Akshay (Kumar) Sir had messaged me. There were so many of them who supported me."

Now that Tadap is out not only in theatres but also on OTT, the actor is yet to announce his next project. "There are a few things in the pipeline right now. I can't discuss it too much. But there will be an announcement, hopefully within a month or month and a half's time. All I can say right now is that I do have a contract with Sajid Nadiadwala. So I'll be working with him again very soon," concluded Ahan, and signed off.

Tadap will be streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from January 28.
