Gandhi-Godse Ek Yudh is one of the hard-hitting as well as experimental films of 2023. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film is a fictional take on the thoughts and ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi and Nathuram Godse.

Anuj Saini is the Bollywood debutant who played a key character in the film. In a candid chat with OTTplay, the young and talented actor shared his experience working with the huge filmmaker and more. Excerpts:

When asked his thoughts on choosing such a hard-hitting serious film as his Bollywood debut the actor shared, "Well, it's my Bollywood debut. But then I did not want to debut with a typical film like what everybody does. Like I'm driving 20 cars, and dancing on dancing numbers and all of that. All of that is very nice. I really appreciate that. I would like to do that kind of work in future."

He further added, "But for my debut, I wanted to do something which is pure acting based, pure performance-based. So this film is pure acting and performance-based. So that's why I chose this film. Plus working under a director such as Mr Rajkumar Santoshi, was like a dream come true. So it's like a dream for every actor to work under him and getting to get launched under a director like him is like, out of the world for me, I could never imagine that something good, so good can happen to me. So that's why I chose to debut in this film"

Anuj shared his experience working with the renowned filmmaker and mentioned, "Debuting in such a filmmaker's film is a dream of every newcomer and not only of newcomer even of the established actors, someone like Rajkumar Santoshi, sir, but he's also I feel is not only a director, he's a full-fledged film school. So I'm out of feeling like I'm so happy and emotional at the same time that I can't express it."
