From working in multiple feature films to OTT shows – Ishaa Saha is arguably one of the busiest actresses in Kolkata right now. After completing Dhrubo Banerjee’s third chapter of the Sonada series Karna Subarne'r Guptodhon, with Abir Chatterjee and Arjun Chakrabarty, the actress got almost immediately busy with another Hoichoi show. The shootings of the second season on her Gora and Indu will begin in August. With multiple releases waiting in the pipeline and a number of projects in hand, the actress talked exclusively to OTTPlay about her plans.
Talking about the shooting of the Sonada franchise, Karna Subarne'r Guptodhon, Ishaa said, “It was a gruelling schedule where we all put our best. We had limited days and we worked rigorously.” The Sonada series, played by Abir in the titular character as a history professor-cum-investigator, and Arjun and Ishaa, his assistants, is one of the most popular detective franchises in Tollywood. After the success of Guptodhoner Sondhane in 2018 and Durgeshgorer Guptodhan in 2019, the shooting of Karna Subarne'r Guptodhon began in March.
Meanwhile, Isha has worked in Kacher Manush with Dev and Prosenjit Chatterjee which is said to be released in Puja. Besides, her other films include Pavel’s Kolkata Cholontika, Paroma Neotia’s Arjun… The War Within and Aritra Sen’s Ghore Ferar Gaan. “I worked on multiple film projects and many of them are waiting to be released. I worked with Anirbanda (Anirban Bhattacharya) in Arjun…, Paramda (Parambrata Chattopadhyay) in Ghore Ferar Gaan and so on. Right now, I have decided to put some filters on selecting films. I am waiting for films to get released and I want to check how the new character portrayals are being reviewed by the audience. I am looking for character variations and hence, I thought of applying filters,” she said.
Ishaa promises to explore possibilities in the digital space. “OTT allows us to experiment more. The variations in characters are more. Hence, I feel working on OTT is more pleasurable,” she told us.
