Swami Chakrapani is known as one of the long-standing 'Hindu nationalists' of India. Known for his strong political remarks, the Indian political activist was recently seen in Kangana Ranaut's show, Lock Upp. He was the first-ever contestant to be evicted from the controversial show.
In a recent chat with OTTplay, the Hindu guru talks about his experience in the show and about the bonding that he shared with Karanvir Bohra and Saisha Shinde in the 'prison'.
Excerpts are below:
The contestants of Lock Upp were seen fighting and creating a lot of controversies, regarding food and water since the first day except Chakrapani. When we asked him about the reason, he says, "In my real life, I'm quite serious and peaceful. It was not only in the show but in real life, I always avoid fighting for issues like food and water. Some of the inmates even abused me, when I tried to talk them out of the situation and asked them not to fight for such small things."
"Also, I never had the experience of being in surveillance 24/7. I haven't even watched any show which is being telecasted live from the first day till the last. So, it was a completely new experience for me and I didn't know how to play mind games like others. I used to behave the way I generally do in my normal life," he adds.
Talking about his close bonding with Karanvir Bohra, the former Lock Upp contestant mentions that everyone in the show was like his child. He further adds, "Yes, my bond with Karanvir was special and he is the most experienced celebrity inside the house. I found him the most humble and pure-hearted person."
In the premiere episode, the political activist mentioned that he is going inside Kangana Ranaut's jail to prove something important and bring a change among the young generation. Ask him if he could succeed to do so, Chakrapani says, "Absolutely! I tried that the inmates use less abusive words inside the jail and get more spiritual. And I think I was successful to do so." Meanwhile, he further explains that he tried not to interfere in anyone's personal matter unless they wanted him to.
The former Lock Upp contestant seemed quite disturbed with Shaisha Shinde's gender change decision as he was not familiar with it. When OTTplay asked him his thoughts about the same after closely knowing and talking to the Bollywood fashion designer, Chakrapani says, "At first, I couldn't understand how to talk to her as I did not know her at all. However, after getting to know her, our bonding also became pretty great in the show."
Chakrapani is confident that Karanvir will bag the Lock Upp trophy and that Anjali Arora and Siddharth Sharma wouldn't be able to make it to the end. When asked about his thoughts on entering the show again, if given a chance, he neither said 'yes' nor a 'no'.
