Her corporate job and prolific acting career keep Rafiath Rashid Mithila busy. After spending months in Dhaka for her work commitment at BRAC, the actress came to Kolkata to attend the release of her husband Srijit Mukherji’s X=Prem. Mithila will soon be seen in a small role in Prosenjit Chatterjee and Ditipriya Roy-starrer Aay Khuku Aay – a Jeet’s production. Before leaving for Tanzania for her work commitment once again, she talked exclusively to OTTPlay about her work-life balance, her entry into Tollywood and her recent venture Montu Pilot with Saurav Das in Hoichoi.

“In Aye Khuku Aye, I play a very small role. I play Buri’s (Ditipriya) mother, who died when Buri was a child. I had a schedule of two days. It was fun shooting in Bolpur. Though this was my first work with Bumbada (Prosenjit), I never felt intimidated working with such a big star. It is perhaps because we have known each other for a long time. It was lovely working with him,” Mithila told us.

The actress has recently worked in the second season of Debaloy Bhattacharya’s Hoichoi show, Montu Pilot. Talking about that, Mithila said, “When Debaloy approached me about the project, I did not know anything about Montu Pilot. It was not released in Bangladesh hence I barely had any idea. I also did not know Debaloy or Saurav that well. But working there was great fun. Saurav and I became good friends. We had a long and intense schedule. We had overnight shoots. We got drenched in a rain machine during winter. All went well because the team and the actors made me very comfortable.”

Talking about her experience in Tollywood, Mithila said, “the only challenge I faced here initially was to be identified just as Srijit Mukherji’s wife. In Bangladesh, people know me for my work. Here things were different in the beginning. Now that I have started working here as well, that idea is gradually going. The good thing is, however, Srijit’s friends became my friends too.”
