On December 12, the eagerly anticipated Pitchers Season 2 trailer was released. The first season of the TVF-produced show, which debuted in 2015, is currently making a comeback with a new season. With a star rating of 9.1, Pitchers is one of the best-rated Indian television shows.
In a special conversation with OTTplay, Ridhi Dogra talked if it can be challenging to join a highly-acclaimed show in its second season and her mantra while taking up Pitchers, she said, "I think my approach to anything I do is that I have to add value to whatever I am asked to you, know that’s why you hire an actor, otherwise anybody can say lines and anybody can do every thing. But what’s the point of having an actor is that they use some part of the brain and intelligence to take what you want to tell and enhance it in some way and also collaborate with you, so I didn’t really take any pressure that I was coming in season two of Pitchers but I was very excited about it.
She later talked about how she feels being a part of Pitchers Season two, "It was definitely something that I feel like grateful to be a part of, be a part of this family and to be a part of a show which is a first of its kind in India and was the first of its kind of a web series when there was not even a trend of web series. For any actor, it was wondeful to see these people do what they were doing and for actors like me we wanted that we should get something like this workwise," Ridhi said.
The second season of the show focuses on expanding the business and surviving in the competitive world of start-ups, whereas the first season focused on four friends quitting their day jobs and founding a company together. Naveen Kasturia, Arunabh Kumar, Abhay Mahajan, Abhishek Banerjee, Ridhi Dogra, Sikander Kher, Gopal Dutt, and Ashish Vidyarthi are all featured prominently in the series, which is directed by Vaibhav Bundhoo.
Pitchers, a 5-episode series, will begin streaming on ZEE5 on December 23.
