Exclusive! Roomies in Dreamland actor Nikhil Vijay: I want to channelise my energy like Jaaved Jaaferi

Nikhil Vijay is one of the famous faces of TVF. The talented actor has recently been seen on Amazon miniTV's Roomies in Dreamland. In a recent chat with OTTplay, he shared his experience of working with Jaaved Jaaferi and also unveiled what he learnt from the veteran actor.

Talking about his character and the latest show, Nikhil said, "As an actor, I feel that I've majorly played in comic space only. The shade of characters has mostly comic, however, even being the same prototype, I always try to change the layers of all my characters. My character in Roomies in Dreamland is also in the same shade but he is a little dumb as well as 'ignorance is bliss' for him."

Nikhil shares the screenspace with Jaaved Jaaferi for the first time in the latest series. Talking about the veteran actor, he shared, "I liked the way Jaaved Sir conserves his energy well on the set and uses it very wisely when needed. He is over sixty years of age and he has done a dance sequence in Roomies in Dreamland and it's great."

Whenever he is on the set, he knows how much energy is needed for a particular situation and he knows how to channelise it well. This is a trait of his I would love to attain for me in long run as well," he added.

Nikhil has been seen delivering some of the most hilarious dialogues in his shows such as Hostel Daze and more. Talking about the same he shared, "With an actor, I am majorly a screenwriter as well. So, while filming a show I get an idea of how a sequence can be taken up a notch from what has been pre-decided. So not only dialogues but if I see a space for improvement then I discuss it with my shows' writers. On the other hand, I have a smooth hand in improvisation due to my training. But I do not go overboard with it and always keep the purpose of the scene in mind."

Meanwhile, with a long list of projects, Nikhil is soon going to be seen in a ZEE5 original show called United Kacche starring Sunil Grover. The Manav Shah directorial also stars Satish Shah, Sapna Pabbi, Manu Rishi Chaddha, Nayani Dixit and Neelu Kohli in key roles.
