Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee is known for his acting and oration skills. After his work in Belashuru, he is all set to start his new film, Nikhonj. Directed by Aranyak Chatterjee, the film will also feature Ridhima Ghosh and Soham Chakraborty. The multidisciplinary artiste will play a character of many shades. He is all set to travel to the UK to shoot a film. Besides, he is scheduled to host workshops and other solo shows.
Despite working with big directors, including Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Srijit Mukherji, Sujoy is not a regular face in the Bengali film industry. In Shiboprosad and Nandita’s Belashuru, he plays the character of a musician, who is in a lavender marriage with Mili – a character played by Rituparna Sengupta. In Srijit’s Shah Jahan Recency, his character Nitty Gritty – the housekeeping head of a hotel – has been appreciated by viewers and critics alike. Talking about the offer, he said, “Films happen to me randomly. I don't have a strategy to pursue producers. I am glad that Aritra and Arannyak thought about me for this rather grim character. I am very excited and looking forward to it.”
Sujoy will be hosting a workshop on ‘spoken words’ and presenting a solo show at a Bengali association. Besides, his directorial work, Home, will also be screened. The short film is his directorial debut and it features Sudipa Basu, Sohag Sen, Sauraseni Maitra, Sohini Sarkar, and others. He will be there in the UK for more than a month. “London was my father’s favorite city. It would surely bring back memories of our family vacation. I am looking forward to Arannyak’s film and meeting old friends in London,” said the actor.
