Vivek Oberoi made a mark in the Malayalam film industry when he played the role of the main villain, Bimal Nair, aka Bobby, in Prithviraj Sukumaran's directorial debut, Lucifer. The 2019 film is remembered for many aspects: showing Mohanlal's towering personality, Prithviraj's filmmaking prowess, and also the incredible performance by Vivek. Once again, the Inside Edge actor is returning to Malayalam cinema with Kaduva, and he is donning the role of the antagonist.

Vivek is shooting for the film in Kerala, and the film, directed by Shaji Kailas, features Prithviraj in the lead role. During an exclusive interaction with OTTPlay, the actor spoke about working on Lucifer and also collaborating with Prithviraj in Kaduva.

Vivek stated, "My experience playing Bobby in Lucifer was an amazing one. I mainly did it for Lalettan (Mohanlal) and Raju (Prithviraj). I mean, Raju is just an amazing guy. He has become such a good friend. I had so much respect for him as an actor and a director. Now, we're just buddies. "

On how he landed a role in Kaduva, the company actor revealed, "So when Raju called me for Kaduva, he told me about the story. I told him, 'Man, I'm packed and over-committed.' And he said, 'Look, I just need 26 days and I need them like now. We can go shoot.' So I figured I would juggle my entire schedule to do it. Because I love the story, I love the clash of these two strong men, that whole testosterone clashing between two guys who come from two very different mindsets."

Vivek also praised Shaji Kailas, saying, "It was very exciting for me and, of course, it was also an opportunity to work with the legendary Shaji Kailas, who's such a phenomenal director. I mean, this is his 46th or 47th film, and he's made some phenomenal films. Some of the biggest names in DOPs, Santosh Sivan, and Ravi K Chandran, all started under him. They've come from the school of Shaji Kailas. So, for me, working with somebody like that was also an amazing experience."

Kaduva is written by Jinu V. Abraham and is likely to hit the screens in 2022.
