Kiran Abbavaram scored a massive hit with KA, which has been trending at the top of the ETV Win charts for the past few months. Now, The Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru actor is gearing up for his next film, Dilruba, set to hit theaters on March 14, 2025. In this exclusive interview, Kiran talks about the romantic drama, his future plans, balancing three films a year, and his most prestigious project yet. Here’s the full transcript.

Is there pressure to deliver a bigger success than KA with Dilruba?

Yes, absolutely. Every actor dreams of surpassing their previous film, and I share the same aspiration. We watched Dilruba a few days ago and were thrilled with the final output. My producers, director, and I are confident that this film will be yet another blockbuster in my career.

On the surface, Dilruba looks like a typical commercial drama. How is it different?

While the trailer and storyline might seem familiar, the film's presentation is what sets it apart. After KA, I’m appearing in a completely new avatar. Audiences will see me dance, fight, and deliver mass dialogues. However, beyond the entertainment, Dilruba also carries a meaningful message.

Tell us more about your role in Dilruba.

I play a college student who has a past with his ex. She returns to the same college as a teacher while I fall in love with someone else. My character is also a guy who never apologizes for mistakes he hasn't committed. The core of the story revolves around how this hot-headed guy takes on goons, making for an engaging narrative.

How was it working with Rukshar Dhillon?

She is a fantastic actress with a crucial role in Dilruba. She is far more experienced than me, and our chemistry will be one of the film’s highlights. Rukshar is very clear about what she wants and brings a lot of depth to the film.

Tell us about your director, Viswa Karun.

Viswa has had a clear vision for the script from day one. He understands that Dilruba is a simple commercial film with a predictable premise, but the way he has built the conflict and woven the story around it makes it special. His narration balances comedy, emotion, and heroism without overdoing anything.

You gained significant success with KA. How are you managing your career?

KA taught me that audiences expect actors like me to choose films with strong content. I’ve taken that feedback seriously, and I plan to release three films every year. My goal is to explore different genres and prove myself as a complete actor. I have a clear roadmap for my career, and I’m just executing my plans accordingly.

What’s next for you?

I’ll soon start shooting for my next film, K Ramp. After wrapping that up, I have two more films lined up for 2026. Additionally, a massive three-part project is currently in the writing stage and is in pre-production. I’ll begin working on that by the end of 2026.
