‘Mrs Deshpande is not completely evil’

Madhuri Dixit revealed, "Her history or the way she thinks is not completely evil. She's not an evil person. It's layered through her life experiences. There's chaos within but she's calm on the outside. She's dubious and not trustworthy."

The actress explained that while Mrs. Deshpande is working with the cops, she cannot be trusted because the character comes with her own thought process. "Even when the police is working with her, they're doing it out of desperation. There's something sinister happening and they need her. She's capable of a lot more," Madhuri shared.

When Ranveer Allahbadia accused her of enjoying the character, she explained that she indeed enjoyed the role because otherwise she has played a good girl on-screen far too many times. "I thought that there are so many layers to this character. It's very well-written," the actress shared.

Madhuri Dixit hints at how Nagesh Kukunoor is the perfect fit for Mrs Deshpande

Explaining how her director is someone whose focus is on the central character in most of the projects, Madhuri thought Nagesh Kukunoor was perfect for a project like Mrs. Deshpande. "Nagesh Kukunoor is very true to the script. He's someone who is very focused on the characters. We needed that precision for the script," she shared.

For the uninitiated, Mrs. Deshpande is the story about a serial killer. Madhuri plays the lead role in the series which is scheduled for release on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium on December 19, 2025.
