Abhay Mahajan is gearing up for the release of his new web show, Oops! Ab Kya?. Directed by Prem Mistry and Debatma Mandal, the series is an official adaptation of the American show, Jane the Virgin. The original show was developed by Jennie Snyder Urman and featured Gina Rodriguez in the lead role. During Oops! Ab Kya? promotions, OTTplay interviewed Abhay. The actor revealed people's doubts about him doing the series. He also discussed his character in the series.
Abhay Mahajan on doing Oops! Ab Kya?
In conversation with us, Abhay Mahajan revealed why he signed up for Oops! Ab Kya?, a JioHotstar web series. The actor mentioned why people had doubts regarding him doing Jane the Virgin's adaptation. He further opened up about playing the role of a cop in the show.
"This show is an adaptation of Jane the Virgin, and I heard a lot of good things about it. When I told people that we were doing the remake of this show, they were very excited and they were doubtful how much better we could do. When I read the script, I was excited, and happy because it is very layered. It is like pav bhaji, it has masala—everything is there. So, I thought that it was very very exciting," Abhay told OTTplay.
The actor further shared he was happy knowing that somebody considered casting him as a cop. He also revealed that his character has a 'vulnerable side' and described him as a 'romantic cop'. For the uninitiated, Abhay will be seen sharing screen space with Shweta Basu Prasad and Sonali Kulkarni in the show.

Oops! Ab Kya? is scheduled for an OTT premiere on February 20, 2025, on JioHotstar. All episodes of the show will drop on the same day. The show's star cast also includes Jaaved Jaaferi, Apara Mehta, and others.
