Actor Pavan Malhotra is all geared up for his latest web series Grahan. The actor, who has worked in well-known Hindi films like Love Aaj Kal and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, as well as the Punjabi film 1984, spoke to OTTplay exclusively about Grahan, the difference between the two industries and more.

Talking about his preparation for Grahan, Pavan stated, “Since the beginning, my school of acting says that the script gives you everything. It was like reading a romance novel. Our director would simply nod in agreement.”

“I feel scared when I take up a new project. Every character and project is different and hence the actor also has to prepare differently every time. My director was very alert. He doesn’t interfere a lot in the process; a true sign of a good, secure director. I don’t know if I can give my best to the role but I can be honest about it. This is a new story and we needed a sensitive director who helps you reach your destination. I do not have scenes with the young couple but from what I have seen, they have worked so beautifully,” he further added.

The actor also spoke about his experience working with the director Ranjan Chandel. “He’s so dangerous that you may never know what he's thinking. Yet when he speaks, he gives you a lot of material. It was fun shooting with him since he would be very professional. He is that kind of a director who gives the freedom for an actor to add anything from his side and would even create a new scene because of that moment,” he shared.

Praising the team, he exclaimed, “I would love to work with Ranjan again. The makers were very clear about what they wanted from the project. Grahan is a vibrant love story that also explores the father-daughter equation. I have even taken inspiration from Anshuman, in the way he expresses himself.”
