Priyanka Mohan interview: Kanmani from Pawan Kalyan's OG is my best character to date

Pawan Kalyan's OG is just a few days away from its release and features Priyanka Mohan as the female lead. She speaks about her role, what to expect from OG, spending time with Pawan Kalyan, and her Telugu career. Here is the transcript.

Priyanka Mohan Interview: Getting to act opposite Pawan Kalyan doesn’t happen every day

How did you become a part of Pawan Kalyan's OG?

I was roped in much after the film was announced officially. The director Sujeeth met me and narrated the character of Kanmani, which is a soothing factor in the intense life of OG. Getting to act opposite the likes of Pawan Kalyan does not happen every day. Also, as the film was being made by the makers of RRR, there was no doubting the team, and I okayed it right away.

How much importance does a heroine have in such an action entertainer like OG?

I play the role of Kanmani, a naïve and pure-hearted girl who falls for an intense gangster. Her charm brings a refreshing balance to the plot and introduces special twists in the film. I can confidently say that among all my characters, Kanmani stands out as the most special and cherished.

Your song Suvvi Suvvi with Pawan Kalyan has gone viral. How do you feel?

It feels great, and I had a lovely time shooting with Pawan Kalyan. Going back in time, the moment I heard the song, I loved it and was waiting to see how it would be shot. It comes at a crucial time in the film and brings much-needed relief.

What were your conversations with Pawan Kalyan on set?

We mostly discussed books, history, and influential people in society. He has a lot of thought towards a better society and always talks about keeping the nation first. But when action is called, he is totally focused on the scene, listens to his director patiently, and acts effortlessly. Through the two and a half years of working with him, I learned a lot from Pawan Kalyan.

What sets OG apart from other films?

OG is not just an action entertainer. There is a solid family drama that the promos have not showcased. When it comes to Pawan Kalyan fans, they will go crazy as the star hero has never been showcased like this to date in any of his films. I am sure it will be a fan fest in theaters on September 25, 2025.

Working with the likes of director Sujeeth?

Even at such a young age, Sujeeth has so much clarity. Even though the shoot had so many gaps, he was never out of sync even for a single day. He knows his script, characters, and how to execute them. OG is his baby, and he has nailed it with his action-packed narrative.

How is your Telugu career shaping up?

I am happy with the films I am doing so far. Saripoda Sanivaaram was a smash hit and helped me reach out to a larger audience. OG will further increase my reach and will surely bring me more offers. Along with this, I have read a few scripts, on which I will take a call soon.
