Rakshit Atluri interview: Sasivadane is my career’s most emotional and honest story

Sasivadane is a low-budget Telugu film that has been in the making for the last two years. Slated to release in early 2025, the film was postponed due to financial issues and is finally set to hit the screens on October 10, 2025.

The makers recently revealed the promo, and it looks quite interesting. Rakshit Atluri plays the main lead in this romantic drama, and he has pinned a lot of hopes on it. 

Speaking about the film, Rakshit stated that he was not keen to do it when he first heard the story. But when director Sai Mohan narrated the scenes and explained the execution, he agreed. “I loved the way Sai narrated crucial scenes in the film. Though the story was simple, the emotions were heart-touching, and that is why I okayed it,” says Rakshit.

When asked about the highlights, Rakshit said, “Apart from the romantic drama, the father-son relationship in the film is top-notch, and the scenes featuring me and Sriram will leave you in tears.” 

Rakshit adds that the soothing visuals will be another major attraction. “The film is set in the Godavari region and has been narrated close to reality. The family drama, romance, and emotional thread are treated with novelty, which will be the film’s selling point,” says Rakshit.

Komalee Prasad plays the female lead, and Rakshit describes her as a wonderful actress who hasn’t received her due yet. “Komalee is a revelation in Sasivadane and looks gorgeous in the film. The way our costume designer Gauri Naidu has styled her will present Komalee in a completely new avatar, and her performance is also one of the highlights,” he adds.

HanuMan fame Anudeep has composed the background score, which Rakshit calls the lifeline of the film. He believes the way Anudeep’s BGM elevates both the romance and pathos will be on another level.

Having been in production for three years, Rakshit says that he and his team have made a clean film that will appeal to everyone. “The moment you come out of the theater after watching it, I am confident you will surely tell others to watch Sasivadane on the big screen,” concludes Rakshit Atluri.

The film’s OTT rights are yet to be locked, but the makers are confident that once it releases, they will secure a solid deal. Stay tuned for more updates on this project.
