Gippy Grewal is one of the most famous Punjabi actors and singers in the entertainment industry. His new film, Shinda Dhinda No Papa, was released in cinemas today, May 10, 2024. The film also stars his son, Shinda Grewal and Hina Khan in lead roles. The film, which revolves around a father-son relationship, promises to be a laughter riot with a social message.
Recently, the actor sat down for an exclusive chat with OTTplay, where he talked about how important box office numbers are to him and how it affects him when his films don't do well at the box office.
When asked how much box office numbers affect him, Gippy Grewal said, "Look, whether you work in any business or field, definitely, box office numbers don't affect me much, but hit or flop sometimes does."
"What happens is that sometimes a film performs well, but people are still cursing it, saying the film is not good, and then it affects. And if the film doesn't perform at all but if it has recovered, everything is okay, even if it is not a big hit. We feel okay; it's fine; no problem; we get that the film is not that good. We are most hurt when sometimes a film turns out to be bad because, look, nobody wants to make a bad film. I mean, it's not like I don't want to make it; nobody in the world wants to make a bad film," the actor added.
Gippy further revealed how it breaks his heart when the audience is unhappy about his film or complains about wasting their money on it. He said, "Sometimes our thought is that it (the film) will come out like this but it doesn't come out as we imagined it to be, so when people watch it, they say, 'What is this? You've wasted our money', then the trust of the audience breaks, and then it hurts our hearts that what have we done?"
Meanwhile, Shinda Shinda No Papa is directed by Amarpreet Chhabra and released in cinemas today, on May 10, 2024.
