Shivani Nagaram plays the female lead in Hey Balwanth, which hits the screens on February 19, 2026. Shivani talks about her role, the fame she gained after Little Hearts, working again with Suhas, and how Telugu girls are getting more exposure these days. Here is the transcript.
I am quite thrilled that our film has peaked at the right time. Post the success of Little Hearts, Hey Balwanth is a film filled with hilarious comedy that will be loved by every section of the audience. As a team, we are very confident. There is non-stop comedy, and the way it has been executed is the biggest highlight of the film.
We are all upset, but at the same time, we respect the verdict given by the board. The makers spent a lot to promote the film, and this sudden title change is not ideal. However, it is not in our hands. We respect the law and believe our strong content will pull audiences to theatres.

I play a very innocent character with a strong comedy touch. The director has written my role in a way that the interval bang will shock everyone, revealing my true avatar. The character has many layers and gave me ample scope to showcase both comedy and emotions.
Yes, I am a trained singer and have performed professionally in Hyderabad. I even crooned a song in Little Hearts. I would love to sing in my films if I get the opportunity.

This is my second film with Suhas after Ambajipeta Marriage Band. Our chemistry was appreciated earlier, and in this film, we share more scenes with good comedy. Suhas is very shy in real life, but he is a top-class actor and will be seen in a crazy role.
Things are changing slowly especally with Telugu girls. The makers are now more open to giving Telugu girls strong roles, and after Little Hearts, I got so many offers, but I am choosing one film at a time. As Little Hearts is still trending on OTT, I have been offered two Tamil films and two Telugu films. Very soon, I will pick a film that gives me ample scope to perform and announce it soon.

Yes, it will. The hero and his father are managing a unique business, which is the turning point in the film. How the hero falls in love and how this crazy business of his becomes the villain is the story. Though this aspect has been hyped, the comedy behind it will surely live up to all the hype.
It’s a hilarious family entertainer with strong performances, father-son comedy, romance, and emotional moments that make it a complete theatrical watch.
