Game Changer is all set to hit the screens on January 10, 2025. The film also has seasoned actor Srikanth in a negative role. He speaks to us about his character, getting to work with the likes of Shankar, and Game Changer's outcome. Here is the transcript.
I was working on my films when I got the chance to play a role in Jr NTR's Devara. Around that time, I received a call from Dil Raju's office saying that Shankar sir wanted to meet me. I was thrilled and met the team, where I learned about my character. The moment I heard the role, I was stunned – it was far beyond my age and experience.
I play a corrupt politician who treats people as insignificant. The film explores how he rises to power, influences society, and clashes with Ram Charan's character in intriguing ways. Shankar transformed everything – from my appearance to my body language. It was incredibly exciting to be on set every day. I shot for 30 days and enjoyed every moment of it.
For me, Game Changer could be a turning point. If both the film and my role are well-received, it will open up opportunities for more diverse characters in the future. If things don't pan out, I will still take pride in having tried something different and giving it my all. I've never felt this anxious before – I'm eager to see how the audience responds to my character.
He's a natural talent, and I've known him since childhood. Watching his growth as an actor and his rise to global stardom has been incredible. In Game Changer, he plays a dual role, and the flashback character is one of his finest performances. Our confrontation scenes are some of the highlights. His emotional depth and expressions will shine through in this film.
It's every actor's dream to work with Shankar. I've admired all his films and often wondered if I'd ever get the chance to collaborate with him. Getting this opportunity in the second phase of my career is an honour. Witnessing his vision and the scale at which he operates is inspiring. The way he conceptualizes and executes his ideas left me in awe.
The primary reason for the delay was scheduling. Game Changer features actors from various industries, making it challenging to align everyone's dates. I remember the shoot was postponed briefly because I was busy with Devara. Additionally, Shankar was occupied with Indian 2, which further extended the timeline.
I feel privileged to have lasted this long. I've gradually shifted into character roles, but a few directors still cast me as the lead. I’m embracing every opportunity as I believe this is the best phase of my career. This is just the start of my journey as a character actor, and Game Changer will showcase my versatility on a grand scale.
